What is Manufacturing Camp?

Manufacturing Camp is a week-long super camp offered to 6th-8th graders through Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio. During the program, camp participants used technology to create a product from start to finish in 3-D design. The students learned about CNC programming, utilized measuring tools, and other applications.

The program includes visits to local manufacturers so the students can get an inside look at products being made, technology being used, and get advice from company leaders and entrepreneurs. We were fortunate enough to be one of the local manufacturers that local middle school students visited.

Manufacturing Camp 2019 at ESTERLE

ESTERLE had the pleasure of hosting over 30 middle school students for Manufacturing Camp 2019. The students toured our facilities and participated in several hands-on activities, including reading micrometers, running SolidWorks, Hypermill and running production of plastic parts.

The students were amazed at our lifting capacity of 40 tons (80,000 lbs.). We enjoyed hosting the students and educating them on the manufacturing trade. MANUFACTURING TRADES ARE IN!
